This time, Roberto Bautista-Agut, the Spanish tennis star has always kept us in suspense about his romantic status. Truth is, there’s always been a question mark around his sexual preference.
The Rainbow Shoelaces
Last February he raised, even more, doubts when he posted a photo to his Instagram account, of a pair of shoes with rainbow color shoelaces.
The 29-year-old champ appears to be single at the moment with no one except for his family and friends to share his successes with. Whether he likes men or women, or both, there no question mark when it comes to his talent.
Also known by his nickname ‘Bati” Roberto was born April 14, 1988, in Castellon de la Plana, Spain. The son of former football player turned banker, Joaquin and clothing store owner, Ester –began playing tennis at age 5.
According to one of his profiles, he grew up admiring Juan Carlos Ferrero and David Ferrer. Aside from tennis he enjoys horseback riding and is a big football fan. He supports Villarreal C.F. and C.D. Castellon. He actually played football for Villarreal C.F. until he was 14.
During his junior career, he went 41-13, reaching the top fifty in the junior world rankings.
The right-handed player turned pro in 2006 and has won singles titles on all surfaces, including ATP Tour events.
He has under his belt five ATP singles titles, including the 2014 Topshelf Open, the 2014 Mercedes Cup, the 2016 ASB Classic, the inaugural 2016 Garanti Koza Sofia Open, and the 2017 Aircel Chennai Open.
In 2014, he received ATP Most Improved Player of the Year Award. Two years later he won the Sofia and Auckland tournaments.
He achieved a career-high singles ranking of world No. 13 in October 2016. Roberto Bautista-Agut is the first Spaniard younger than Rafael Nadal to get inside the Top 20.
