Shelby Swihart
Meet Shelby Swihart; the former Shelby Lucero is the pretty wife of MLB player Blake Swihart, the catcher for the Boston Red Sox, who selected him in the first round (26th overall) in the 2011 MLB Draft.
Blake played college football at the University of Texas at Austin. He made his debut with the Red Sox on May 2, 2015, prior to that, he played for the Greenville Drive of the Class A South Atlantic League, the Salem Red Sox of the Class A-Advanced Carolina League, Portland Sea Dogs of the Class AA Eastern League and eventually for the Pawtucket Red Sox of the Class AAA International League.
Pretty Shelby was born Shelby Amber Lucero on May 3, 1995, in Albuquerque, New Mexico; she is one of two children born to Joni (nee. Harrison) and Kenneth Lucero, both 51, and parents of Shelby’s big brother, Reece, 25.
Kenneth Lucero played baseball at the University of New Mexico, her brother Reece is a catcher at Dixie State University.
For her part, Shelby a La Cueva High School graduate, played softball for The Lobos at the University of New Mexico Lobos. She graduated with a major in science.
Shelby and Blake became engaged on January 6, 2017; he popped the question while they were on a trip to Playa del Carmen in Quintana Roo, Mexico.
They eventually tied the knot on December 15, 2017, in Laguna Beach, California.
