Sherry Silvey’s husband was born Scott Williams Brooks on July 31, 1965. A native of Lathrop, Calif., Brooks played 10 seasons in the NBA, appearing in 680 regular season games with Philadelphia, Minnesota, Houston, Dallas, New York and Cleveland. He won an NBA Championship as a player with the Houston Rockets in 1994.
The former 5-11 guard began his NBA coaching career as an assistant coach for the Denver Nuggets from 2003-2006. Brooks spent the 2006-2007 season working as an assistant coach for the Sacramento Kings. The following season he joined the Thunder Organization.
Brooks led the Oklahoma City Thunder to the NBA Finals in 2012. Brooks was named the NBA’s Western Conference coach of the month in February of 2012 after guiding the Thunder to an NBA-best 12-3 mark.
He coached the Thunder from 2008 to 2015, then became head coach of the Washington Wizards in 2016.
Sherry Silvey and Scott Brooks tied the knot on January 27, 1993. The couple raised two children daughter Lexi and son, Chance Brooks. The his high school sweethearts tied the knot, believe it or not, at Pebble Beach. On the 18th hole.
Both Sherry Silvey and her husband attended East Union High School in Monterey, CA. The couple honeymooned in Europe and then Scott returned to the Houston Rockets for their 1993-94 championship season.
Though Sherry keeps a low profile, the former wag turned coach’s wife, sure could share a lot of insight into what it takes to make it after 23-years of marriage in NBA.
There are not many details available on her, but we do have a sweet story involving her family. According to the Washington Post, Scott Brooks wears colorful woven bracelets on his wrist, signifying the bond with Sherry, Chance, Lexi and Melo, the family’s Portuguese water dog (named after his daughter’s favorite player when Brooks was in Denver).
