Courtney Richards Nantz
Jim Nantz Nantz is the second wife of Jim Nantz. He is the NFL announced on CBS’s play-by-play team, he also worked for the PGA Tour, NCAA and the NFL.
Before we can talk about Mrs. Nantz, we first need to say to you just a few things about her famous husband. Jim was born in Charlotte, North Carolina on May 17, 1959. He later settled in Louisiana and then to New Jersey where he attended Marlboro High School.
Subsequently graduated with a major in broadcasting from the University of Houston in Texas. Nantz worked for KHOU Houston before joining CBS in 1985.
With CBS, he covered the PGA Tour, NCAA Final Four with Billy Packer and Sunday Night Football. In 2004 he was named the NFL on CBS’s top play-by-play announcer, he called the play-by-play of Super Bowl XLI in 2007.
Since 2014 he is on Thursday Night Football – lead play-by-play with Al Michaels.
As previously noted, Jim Nantz has been married twice. He was first married to Ann Lorraine Carlsen. Jim and Lorrie Nantz married in 1983; their daughter Caroline was born in 1994.
Lorrie and Jim split up in 2008, around the same time he met Courtney Richards, then 29, while promoting a book he wrote about his father, they started an affair because according to Nantz, his marriage was already dead. Their divorced was eventually finalized in 2009.
Courtney Richards became Courtney Nantz on June 12, 2010 following a 20-month engagement. They said “I Do” on the 7th hole of the famed Pebble Beach golf course.
Courtney Richards Nantz once vice president at IMG, gave birth to the couple’s first child Finley Cathleen Nantz on March 14, 2014, their second child Jameson George Nantz was born February 1, 2016.
