Meet Karen Smolensky! She is the pretty wife of Don Smolenski, the president of the Philadelphia Eagles, the NFL team he initially joined in 1998 as Chief financial officer, then as Senior vice president/chief financial officer in 2001, Chief operating officer in 2010 and president since 2012.
Don Smolenski Education
Donald John Smolenski was born on February 17, 1967, in Pittsford, New York, one of the children born to John and Donna Jean Smolenski, who passed away on January 2, 2023 at the age of 82. Mr. Smolenski graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and a Master of Scxiuence degree in accounting from Amherst College.
Don Smolenski Career
Don Smolenski started his career as an accountant with Arthur Andersen. From 1994 to 1998 was the chief financial officer for the International Hockey League (IHL).
In 1998, Mr. Smolenski joined the Philadelphia Eagles as their new chief financial officer; in 2001, was promoted to senior vice-president while he continued to serve as CFO.
In 2010, the Philadelphia Eagles announced they promoted Smolenski to Chief Operating Officer. Two years later he was named the Team’s president. Some of his work as president includes:
- 2012: He led a two-year, $125 million Lincoln Financial Field revitalization which added 1,600 seats, graphics paying tribute, and HDF video boards.
- 2013: Smolenski helped launch the Eagle’s Care Initiative.
- 2015: Don Smoleski was named one of the Most Admired CEO’s by the Philadelphia Business Journal.
- 2017: He and PHL Sports helped to bring the NFL draft back to Philly, for the first time since 1961.
- 2018: He helped launch the Eagle’s Autism Challenge.
- 2019: He was appointed chair of the PHL Sports Advisory Board.
Don Smolenski Wife
Don Smolensky and his wife Karen Smolenski got married on May 22, 1993, in Farmington, Connecticut. They have since welcomed two sons Jake and Shanre Smolenski.
56-year-old Karen Smolenski was born in Karen Elizabeth Cosentino. She is involved in the Eagles Autism Challenge. Her sons Jake and Shane were college athletes and continue to live in Philadelphia.
5’11 Jake Smoleski (b. May 1998), played football at the University of Pennsylvania; he graduated in 2020, with a Bachelor of Sciewnce in Economics with a concentration in finance and statistics from the Wharton School. Jake Smolenski is a private equity associate at Apollo Global Management in New York.
Before that, Jake Smoleski was an investment banking analyst at Evercore and summer analyst at Houlihan Lokey, intern at FS Investments, Teller intern for the Student Federal Credit Union at the University of Pennsylvania.
Shane Smoleski (b. February 2000), ran track at Bowdoin College from where he graduated in 2022 with a bachelor of arts in physics. In 2021, Shane Smolenski was a undergraduate researcher at Cornell University; before that, he was a grader and learning assistant ar Bowdoin College and an instructor at Groton Long Point.
