Meet Jessica “Jessy “ Poulsen, the lovely wife of MLB player Mike Aviles. The 34-year-old NY native currently plays with the Cleveland Indians. The Concordia college graduate previously played for the Kansas City Royals and the Boston Red Sox.
An unheralded seventh-round pick in the 2003 draft, Aviles worked his way up the minor league ladder, from Wilmington in 2004, to Wichita in 2005, to Class AAA Omaha in 2007.
According to ESPN, Aviles missed the final two games of the first half because of the family issue, that family issue is in the form of 4-year-old daughter Adriana currently battling Leukemia.
Since his daughter’s diagnosis, the Indians have shown support for the Aviles family by shaving their heads and wearing t-shirts that said “Team Adriana.”
Jessy and Mike met in 2005 when she was just 18 and worked as a nanny who watched over a boy who took lessons at a batting cage, where Mike happened to work at. They dated for a few years before tying the knot. He popped the question in 2008 when during the All-Star break the couple drove to a resort at the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri. He carefully picked out a romantic spot to spring the big question. He said during an interview:
“She didn’t have a clue,” “She said, ‘Yes,’ “I knew I was going to get up here, one way or another. Now I feel confident and happy.”
Jessy and her man tied the knot in 2010 and held a party at the Canterbury place in Bountiful, Utah.
28-year-old Jessy –who is originally from Utah –is the mother of the couple’s twin girls, of whom Adrianna is one. The girls were born on January 2 of 2011.
Aviles is also the father of another daughter from a previous relationship. 10-year-old Kyla lives in NY with her mother and attended her fathers wedding to Jessy, she was 5 at the time and stole the night when she dance with her famous father.
