Nerys Valdez Rosario
Nerys Valdez Rosario is the proud mother of MLB player, Amed Rosario, her son who currently plays with the New York Mets is the guy everyone is talking about.
Amed Rosario is one of four children born to mother, Nerys Valdez Rosario and father, Germán Abad Rosario.
Nerys Valdez Rosario and her husband, welcomed their son, German Amed Valdez Rosario on November 20, 1995. Nerys Valdez Rosario and her hubby are also the parents to Amed’s three sisters, Yanitza, Zulima and Aniana Rosario.
Nerys’ boy was signed with the New York Mets at age 17, as an international free agent in July 2012. With a $1.75 million, Amed was the largest international signing bonus given by the Mets.
Amed made his professional debut in 2013 with the Kingsport Mets, the following season he played whit he Brooklyn Cyclones and later with the Savannah Sand Gnats.
In mid 2016, he was promoted to the Binghamton Mets and was called to the 2016 MLB All Star Futures Game.
He made the Mets 40-man roster following the 2016 season.
Nerys son, is widely considered by experts, the shortstop of the future.
Last year, Rosario hit .324 in 120 games between high Class A St. Lucie and Double-A Binghamton. He slugged a career-high .459, a reflection of his speed and developing power. He finished with 24 doubles, 13 triples and five homers.
Nerys Valdez Rosario could probably not be any happier with the direction of her son’s career.
Nerys’ oldest daughters Zulima and Yanitza are both lawyers. Zulima is also a mother herself, she has two small children; one boy and one girl.
Aniana Rosario, the youngest of the four siblings, is currently a college student in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
Both of Amed’s parents have college degrees. Accoridng to the NY Times, Amed revealed education is something very important for his family. His dad, Germán Abad Rosario, was a criminal lawyer in the Dominican Republic and later a judge. Nerys Valdez Rosario worked as a business administrator. She studied public administration at Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo.
Like most professional athletes, parents, play a key role during the early years of their development and Amed, isn’t the exception. Nerys Valdez Rosario was in charge of checking his homework daily; while his father trained him on the field.
