New York Mets

  • In the 2012 MLB draft, Sewald was picked in the tenth round by the New York Mets.
  • He received a signing bonus of $1,000 from the Mets.
  • Upon signing, Sewald debuted professionally with the Brooklyn Cyclones in the same season, recording a 0–2 record and a 1.88 ERA over 28+2⁄3 relief innings.
  • In 2013, he played for the Savannah Sand Gnats, finishing the season with a 3–2 record and 1.77 ERA in 35 relief appearances.
