Marin developed hiѕ career аt a young age; local hometown coaches ѕаw him play аnd encouraged him to move tо Zagreb to complete his training. Hе wаѕ ѕооn befriended bу hiѕ fellow countryman Goran Ivanisevic whо introduced him tо coach Bob Brett. Hе turned pro in 2005.

However, Kristina Milkovic and Cilic were not only seen out and about; but she was regularly at his games. They have been together for 7 years now.
Kristina who speaks Croatian, English, Italian and Spanish fluently; graduated with a Master’s Degree in psychology and political science in 2014; around that same time, she worked as a branding and sourcing specialist at Zagrebacka Banka, subsequently, in 2016 became head of talent acquisition.
Marin and Kristina announced their engagement in July 2017; they eventually tied the knot on April 28, 2018.
