Georgia Tech
Initially rated as a three-star recruit, Gibbs committed to playing football at Georgia Tech during his junior year. Despite subsequent interest from other prestigious schools like Michigan, Texas A&M, and North Carolina, he stayed true to his commitment. However, he was re-evaluated as a four-star prospect in his senior year and garnered further attention from schools like Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. Despite the increased interest, Gibbs stuck with his commitment to Georgia Tech.
Transitioning to his college career, Gibbs made an impactful debut for Georgia Tech, earning recognition as the ACC Freshman of the Week after a stellar performance in his first game against Central Florida. He showcased versatility and talent throughout his freshman year, earning honors as an All-ACC return specialist.
During his freshman year, Gibbs recorded 89 carries for 460 yards and four touchdowns, 24 receptions for 303 yards and three touchdowns, in seven games, all starts.
The following season, Gibbs finished with 143 carries for 746 yards and four touchdowns, 35 receptions for 465 yards and two touchdowns, in 12 games all starts.
Alabama
Eventually, he transferred to the University of Alabama in 2022. In his inaugural season with the Crimson Tide, Gibbs continued to excel, amassing impressive rushing and receiving yards along with multiple touchdowns, displaying his dynamic skill set on the field.
