Meet Donovan Clingan Girlfriend Madeline Ross! Donovan Clingan is the outstanding 7’2 center player with the UConn Huskies at the University of Connecticut. Clingan is a volunteer coach for the Boys & Girls Club of Bristol.
Madeline Ross
Pretty Madeline Ross, from Bristol, Connecticut, graduated in 2022 from Bristol Central High School. There, she was inducted into the Bristol Sports Hall of Fame and was a member and captain of the Bristol Central soccer and lacrosse teams.
Madeline was awarded distinctions in the form of Honors/Letters and was also inducted into both the National Honor Society and the Italian National Honor Society.
Donovan Clingan GF Madeline Ross is one of three children born to Kevin Ross, the IT director at Plainville Community, and Meredith Ross (nee. Platt). She has one older sister, Kathryn, 21, a volleyball student at Endicott College, and a younger brother, Harrison, a member of the basketball team at Bristol Central.
Madeline Ross is currently a sophomore at the University of Connecticut.
Donovan Clingan Family
Donovan John Clingan, born on February 23, 2004, is the son of Bill and the late Stacey Porrini Clingan. He has a younger sister named Olivia. Donovan’s mother, Stacey, who sadly passed away from breast cancer in March 2018, was a remarkable athlete excelling in three sports: basketball, swimming, and track, during her time at Bristol Central. She continued her basketball career as a star player at the University of Maine.
Donovan’s father, Bill Clingan is an electric field operations supervisor at Eversource Energy in Waterbury, Connecticut. He was 29 years old when he met his wife Stacey. That day, he remembers he wasn’t keen on spending his evening at a crowded bar, especially on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Nonetheless, he reluctantly accompanied his friends, positioning himself at the bar with a soda, distancing himself mentally from the hubbub around him.
However, a chance encounter orchestrated by a friend introduced him to Stacey Porrini, a woman who was equally puzzled by the unexpected introduction. Despite the initial confusion, Bill and Stacey found themselves engrossed in conversation throughout the night. Before parting ways, Bill managed to obtain Stacey’s number, intending to reach out after the holiday weekend.
Their connection didn’t end there. Over the Thanksgiving weekend, Stacey took the initiative to track down Bill’s contact information, setting the stage for their subsequent romance. Their relationship blossomed swiftly, leading to marriage in 2001.
Olivia Clingan, a freshman at Clemson University, graduated in 2023 from Bristol Central High School, where she was also a member of the Volleyball Team. Olivia works part-time as a front desk receptionist at Valley Orthodontics.
Donovan Clingan UCONN
A standout in AAU basketball, Donovan Clingan played under Joseph Chatman for Team Spartans in Dorchester, Massachusetts. He attended Bristol Central High School, where he showcased remarkable stats, averaging 27.3 points, 17.2 rebounds, and 5.8 blocks per game as a junior. This performance earned him the title of Connecticut Gatorade Player of the Year. Continuing his excellence, Clingan repeated this achievement during his senior year, with averages of 30.3 points, 18.4 rebounds, and 6.2 blocks per game.
On July 2, 2021, he committed to playing college basketball for UConn, choosing them over several other prestigious offers. Clingan shares a close friendship with current UConn Huskies football running back Victor Rosa, who was his point guard in high school.
Starting his college career at UConn as the backup center, Clingan quickly proved himself and earned a spot on the Big East Conference All-Freshman team. He notably contributed to UConn’s victory in the 2023 national championship game with four points, three rebounds, a block, and two steals. Despite being a potential pick in the 2023 NBA draft, Clingan decided to return to UConn for his sophomore season, where he transitioned into the role of starting center.
