Easton Stick girlfriend and winner of the 2019 Volunteers of America Classic on the LPGA Tour, Cheyenne Erin Knight, was born on January 22, 1997, in The Woodlands, Texas, is the cherished daughter of Gene and Jayna Knight. She is an alumna of Aledo High School, where her golfing prowess earned her the distinction of Honorable Mention Rolex Junior All-America in 2014.
Cheyenne Knight’s high school years were marked by numerous victories. Most notably, she triumphed at the Texas 4A state golf individual championship in 2014. She continued to demonstrate her athletic abilities by securing the Texas 5A state golf individual title in 2015 during her senior year.
In addition to these accolades, Cheyenne Knight was a proud member of the 2014 USA Today All-USA Girls Golf Team. Her exceptional performance on the golf course led to her selection as the Player of the Year for 2015 by the North Texas High School Golf Coaches Association.
Cheyenne also showcased her skills at the national level. In the 2014 USGA Girls’ Junior Championship, she successfully qualified for match play, finishing 38th in stroke play. Furthermore, she clinched victory at the 2014 American Junior Golf Association’s Valero Texas Open with an impressive score of 4-under 212.

6’1 Easton Stick was born on September 15, 1995, in Omaha, Nebraska, one of two sons born to Shelly and Mike Stick, an outfielder at Creighton University (Class of 1995, Bachelors Degree in Business Management) and former member of the Chicago Cubs Organization.
Easton’s brother Aaron graduated in 2017 from Creighton Preparatory School and in 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Marketing from Marquette University. He works in the scouting and operations football division at Excel Sports Management. Before that, Aaron Stick worked in the football operations department at REP1 Sports and also was a financial associate at Northwestern Mutual.
Easton Stick College Career
Freshman Season
The talented quarterback was recognized as a member of the Missouri Valley Football Conference (MVFC) All-Newcomer Team. He stepped into the spotlight after an injury sidelined NFL draft pick Carson Wentz, and led his team to an 8-0 streak as the starting quarterback. His leadership started with back-to-back victories on the road against Indiana State and Southern Illinois, which set the stage for the Bison’s march through the NCAA semifinals, culminating in their fifth consecutive national championship. His debut game at Indiana State saw him account for three touchdowns, earning him the title of MVFC Newcomer of the Week.
The quarterback’s impressive performances continued throughout the season. He became the first NDSU quarterback since Kevin Feeney in 1996 to have consecutive 100-yard rushing games. In a thrilling encounter at Youngstown State, he scored the game-winning touchdown with just 35 seconds remaining, overcoming a 24-10 fourth quarter deficit. In total, he appeared in 11 games, completing 90 of 147 passes for 1,144 yards and 13 touchdowns, with only four interceptions. He also shone in home games against Western Illinois and Missouri State, where he threw for four touchdowns in each game. Besides his on-field performances, he excelled academically, receiving the MVFC Commissioner’s Academic Excellence Award and being named to the MVFC Honor Roll.
Sophomore Season
The quarterback demonstrated his leadership skills by starting all 14 games and being elected team captain, the first sophomore to achieve this since Steve Walker in 2005. He was given an honorable mention on the All-Missouri Valley Football Conference team, reflecting his impressive performance. Throughout the season, he completed 169 of 288 passes for a total of 2,331 yards, scoring 19 touchdowns and making nine interceptions. Additionally, he ranked as NDSU’s third leading rusher with 113 carries for 685 yards and seven scores, averaging 6.1 yards per carry.
The quarterback’s skills were not limited to passing and rushing. He also ranked sixth in the MVFC in total offense (215.4 ypg), led the league in yards per completion (13.79), and came second in passing efficiency (142.2). He managed to pass for at least one touchdown in 11 out of the 14 games, with career-high 257 passing yards in the overtime win against Eastern Washington. In the homecoming victory over Illinois State, he passed for 256 yards and three touchdowns, and repeated this feat in back-to-back wins over South Dakota and San Diego. Notably, he played a crucial role in the victory over 11th-ranked Iowa, positioning the Bison for a game-winning field goal in the final moments. Off the field, he achieved academic excellence, making the MVFC All-Academic first team and receiving the MVFC Commissioner’s Academic Excellence Award and Honor Roll.
Junior Season
As team captain, the quarterback played a pivotal role in leading North Dakota State to its sixth national championship win in NCAA Division I football within seven years. In the championship match against James Madison, he was named the Most Outstanding Player, demonstrating his skills by completing 13 of 22 passes for 130 yards and one touchdown. With seven victories over FCS Top 10 ranked teams, he was an important figure in the team’s success. He received an honorable mention on the All-Missouri Valley Football Conference team and won the College Football Performance Awards FCS National Performer of the Year with a career-best 62.1% completion percentage.
He completed 164 of 264 passes for 2,466 yards, with 28 touchdowns and eight interceptions, making him NDSU’s fourth-leading rusher. He rushed for 663 yards and tied for the team lead with 12 rushing touchdowns, averaging 5.9 yards per carry. His performance included a school-record streak of 152 consecutive pass attempts without an interception. He also set NDSU postseason records for touchdown passes in a game and in a single postseason. Besides his athletic achievements, he excelled acadically, earning a place on the MVFC All-Academic first team and receiving the MVFC President’s Council Academic Award, the MVFC Commissioner’s Academic Excellence Award, and MVFC Honor Roll.
Senior Season
For the third consecutive season, the quarterback led his team as captain, guiding North Dakota State to its seventh NCAA Division I football national championship in eight years. His outstanding performance earned him first-team All-America recognition from the Associated Press and HERO Sports, second-team All-America by the American Football Coaches Association, and third-team All-America by STATS FCS. He also came third in the Walter Payton Award ballot for the FCS Offensive Player of the Year. As a testament to his exceptional skills, he was named the Missouri Valley Football Conference Offensive Player of the Year and was thrice chosen as the Offensive Player of the Week.
The quarterback’s stellar season included 321 yards of total offense and four touchdowns in the win over Delaware. He completed 175 of 281 passes for 2,752 yards and 28 touchdowns over the season, while rushing 117 times for 677 yards and 17 touchdowns. He set school records for total touchdowns responsible for (45) and pass efficiency rating (172.4). His 3,429 yards of total offense were the second highest in team history. In the championship game against Eastern Washington, he had five total touchdowns and rushed 18 times for 121 yards. Off the field, he stood out for his academic achievements and community involvement, earning a place on the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, becoming a finalist for the National Football Foundation William V. Campbell Trophy, and being voted onto the Google Cloud Academic All-America second team by CoSIDA. For the third consecutive season, he was named to the MVFC All-Academic first team.
Easton Stick NFL Career
- April 27, 2019: Stick was selected by the Los Angeles Chargers in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Draft with the 166th overall pick.
- May 10, 2019: He signed a four-year contract worth $2.797 million with the Los Angeles Chargers.
- 2019 Season: Stick participated in the preseason but did not appear in any regular season games.
- Early 2020 Season: Despite expectations for Stick to become the backup quarterback replacing Tyrod Taylor, Chase Daniel was instead signed for the role.
- Week 3, 2020 Season: Stick was briefly brought into the game following an injury to starting quarterback Justin Herbert, but before Stick could make his debut snap, the Chargers called a timeout and Herbert returned to the game.
- March 13, 2023: The Chargers re-signed Stick to a one-year deal, maintaining his role as backup for Herbert.
- Week 14, 2023 Season: Stick replaced Herbert, who sustained a finger injury in the second quarter. In his first game since 2020, Stick threw for 179 yards in a loss to the Denver Broncos.
- December 12, 2023: Following the announcement of Herbert’s season-ending surgery, the Chargers declared that Stick would take over as the starting quarterback.
