Tonya Nabers
Meet Tonya Nabers, the powerhouse mom behind the Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers, one of the top picks in the 2024 NFL Draft and a standout player at LSU. From his breakout as a freshman in 2021 to his All-American status in 2023, Malik’s rise has been nothing short of spectacular, and Tonya has been there every step of the way.
Reflecting on Malik’s journey, Tonya remembers how fast time flew by, from dropping him off at school to watching him become LSU’s all-time leader in receiving yards with an incredible 3,003 yards.
“I’m so proud of everything he’s accomplished,” she says, still in awe of her son’s achievements.
As Malik now stands among the elite receivers in the draft class, alongside stars like Marvin Harrison Jr. and Rome Odunze, Tonya can hardly believe that the NFL dream Malik had as an 8-year-old is now within reach.
“He told me, ‘Mama, I’m going to play in the NFL,’ and I knew he meant it,” she recalls with pride.
Tonya’s dedication to her son is unwavering. She attends as many of his games as possible, focusing intensely on his every move on the field. For her, Malik is not just a star athlete but a true leader, known for guiding younger teammates and showing character both on and off the field.
Football talent runs deep in the family—Tonya’s nephew, Jordan Allen, is also an LSU safety. Together, Malik and Jordan share not just a bond but a dream of football greatness, something that fills Tonya with immense pride as she watches them chase their goals side by side at LSU.
Tonya’s story isn’t just about raising a football star—it’s about nurturing Malik’s determination, discipline, and leadership qualities, which are now on full display for the world to see.
