Meet Kara Gotham! She is the beautiful wife of Rich Gotham, the president of the Boston Celtics. Rich Gotham has been a part of the Celtics Organization since 2003, first as the Executive Vice-President of Sales, as Chief Operating Officer three years later, and as President of the Celtics since 2007.
Kara Gotham
Rich Gotham’s wife Kara Gotham, was born Kara Louise Corridon on M<arch 24, 1968. Kara Gotham graduated in 1999 from Friars University, where she also a member of the Friars Track Team.
Kara Gotham and her husband are the proud parents of three children: daughters, Olivia, and Jayne and son Trace.
Her eldest daughter Olivia, graduated from the College of William & Mary in 2018 and from Georgetown University Law Center in 2021. Olivia Gotham is an associate at Morrison & Foerster in Boston.
Trace Gotham graduated from St. Sebastian School and is a member of the Bates College men’s basketball team.
Jayne Gotham attended Medfield High School and holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and Political Science from Northwestern University; Jayne is senior consultant at Fidelity Investments.
Rich Gotham Education
Gotham was born in Norwood, Massachusetts. He attended Milford High School, graduating in 1982. He then pursued higher education at Providence College in Rhode Island, graduating in 1986 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, focusing on Marketing.
As an active alumnus, Gotham remains involved with his alma mater, serving on the Boston President’s Council, Varsity Athletics Board, and the Vision Team for the Men’s Basketball program.
Rich Gotham Boston Celtics
Gotham spent five years in senior management roles at Lycos, a global internet media company, where he held positions such as Vice-President of Sales and Corporate Development. Before that, he was Vice-President of Channel Sales and Market Development at FTP Software.
In April 2003, he left Lycos and joined the Boston Celtics as Executive Vice-President of Sales, Marketing, and Corporate Development. He was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in June 2006.
Later, on April 18, 2007, Gotham was appointed President of the Celtics, filling a vacancy left by the passing of team patriarch Red Auerbach in October 2006.
As Vice-President of Sales and Corporate Development at Lycos, Rich Gotham was responsible for generating significant revenues, exceeding $300 million annually. He played a key role in the company’s growth, helping to exceed Wall Street analyst expectations for revenue and profitability growth for 19 consecutive quarters.
Additionally, he was part of the senior management team that grew the Lycos Network into the most visited website on the Internet in 2001. Mr. Gotham also served on the Board of Directors for the Internet Advertising Bureau, contributing to the creation of multiple new Internet advertising standards that are still in place today.
