Meet Tatum Causey! She is the pretty girlfriend of NFL player David Montgomery, the 5’11 running back currently signed by the Detroit Lions. Montgomery previously played for the Chicago Bears from 2019 to 2022 and college football at Iowa State under head coach Matt Campbell.
Tatum Causey
David Montgomery girlfriend, Tatum Causey, was born Tatum Kennedy Causey on March 24, 1997, in Phoenix, Arizona. She is one of the children born to Jill Renne Causey and Mike Causey, born in Germany, and the vice-president Captive Business Development at Berkley Accident & Health of Berkley Accident and Health in Arizona.
In addition to Tatum, Jill and Mike Causey are the proud parents to their son Cameron, a sales professional at Bloomingdale’s in Chicago; Cameron graduated in 2021 with business entrepreneurship from Arizona State University and in April 2023 with a Bachelor’s degree in Fashion from Columbia College Chicago.
For her part, Tatum Causey graduated in 2015 from Pinnacle High School; she holds a Bachelor’s Degree focused on Child, Adult, and Family Services from Arizona State University; Tatum also attended Iowa State University.
From May 2012 to May 2023, Tatum Causey was a Youth Development Professional and Teen Coordinator at the Boys & Girls Club of America. Later on, Tatum was Program Coordinator at the Union League Boys & Girls Clubs, and currently, Ms. Causey is a Donor Relations Associate at the Community Renewal Society.
Tatum Casey and David Montgomery welcomed their son David Jr. on January 13, 2023.
In August 2023, Tatum and David’s pitbull mix dog Lola, escaped from their house in Gross Pointe, Michigan and attacked a small dog on the sidewalk. According to the news, the small dog was an older Cockapoo who was so badly bitten that it had two fractured legs and required to undergo two surgeries and had its leg amputated.
Tatum and David agreed to have Lola euthanized; Tatum also faced a civil lawsuit.

Born On June 7, 1997, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Roberta and Samuel Mitchell, David Montgomery attended Mount Healthy High School before committing to Iowa State over offers from Ball State, Buffalo, and Miami.
In his first season in 2016, Montgomery showed promise, leading his team with an impressive 563 yards and earning the title of Big 12 Newcomer of the Week. He truly shone in 2017, topping the Cyclones’ charts in rushing yards and yards from scrimmage and even setting a national record for forced missed tackles. His performances against top-ranked teams like Iowa, Oklahoma, and Texas Tech were particularly noteworthy. This winning streak earned him prestigious titles like first-team All-American and consensus first-team All-Big 12.
Despite a slow start to the 2018 season, Montgomery finished on a high note. He delivered several 100-yard games and showcased a strong performance in the Alamo Bowl. He closed the season with a remarkable 1,216 rushing yards and 13 rushing touchdowns. - April 26, 2019: David Montgomery was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the 3rd round (73rd Overall) in the 2019 NFL draft.
- June 13, 2019: Montgomery signed a four-year, $4.015 million contract with Chicago.
- September 5, 2019: Montgomery made his NFL debut with the Bears against the Green Bay Packers.
- Finished the 2019 season with 889 rushing yards, six rushing touchdowns, one receiving touchdown, and 25 receptions for 185 receiving yards.
- December 2, 2020: David Montgomery suffered a concussion in Week 9 against the Tennessee Titans.

David Montgomery Contract
On March 14, 2023, David Montgomery signed a three-year, $18 million contract with the Detroit Lions. The deal included a $4.5b million signing bonus, $11 million guarantee and an annual salary of $6 million.
