There are still more top names that have an outside opportunity of making a run at the tournament victory (stars like Rickie Fowler, Lee Westwood and Jim Furyk all at two-under), but the ultimate winner of the Masters usually has positioned himself toward the top of the leader board by Day 4. We all want to see how Jim performs this time. We bet Tabitha Furyk will be using this game to promote the foundation she and her husband have.
·Jim Furyk’s wife Tabitha Skartved has also been a stable presence in his life ever since 2000 when the couple married. Thanks in part to Tabitha’s shock on his life, you won’t find a more reliable and secure golfer on the PGA tour than Jim Furyk. Jim and Tabitha dated for a long time before they married and now have two children, Caleigh Lynn and Tanner.
The pair is a lot involved in their charity foundation, The Jim & Tabitha Furyk Foundation. The foundation was started in 2010 as a means to help unprivileged families and maintain local organizations that work with these groups. In March of 2012 the foundation hosted a golf tournament at Sawgrass along with a concert to help raise money.
Tabitha organizes events to provide project specific funding for a variety of local children’s charities. In their first three years, the foundation raised nearly $800,000 dollars and has provided support to charities such as Blessings in a Backpack, The Bridge, Community PedsCare, Mal Washington Kids Foundation, the MacKenzie Wilson Foundation, Operation Shower and Wolfson Children’s Hospital.
She also helps with the research and development funds for pediatric neurology and oncology, provided salary for additional nursing staff for children suffering from life threatening diseases and supported military moms whose husbands are deployed when they are going to deliver their babies…and the list goes on and on.
