Angela Helton

Coach Helton’s father Kim was once head coach for the Canadian Football League, NFL and college coach too. Charles Clay Helton was born on June 24, 1972 in Gainsville, Florida. He graduated from the University of Houston.
Even though he was a fine football player in college, he didn’t set his mind on the NFL, instead he pursue a coaching career. His first coaching job came as aa graduate assistant for the Blue Devils at the University of Duke.
In 1997, he joined his old man who was at the time coaching the Houston Oilers.
He left Houston in 2002 to join the Memphis Tigers football team under Rip Scherer, he was a running backs coach until 2009.
Under Lane Kiffin, Coach Helton was hired by USC as their quarterbacks coach in 20109, then three years later was promoted to offensive Coordinator; before becoming the permanent head coach on November 30, 2015 he served as interim head coach twice.
Clay Helton’s lovely wife is Angela Bickham Helton, from Sugar Land, Texas. She attended at Clemens High School and Auburn University. They are the proud parents of three children; sons Reid and Turner, and daughter, Aubrey.
