Chris Taylor was born and raised in Virginia Beach, Virginia, started his professional career with the Seattle Mariners back in 2014 when they selected him in the fifth round (161st overall) in the 2012 MLB draft.

Taylor eventually made his MLB debut with the Mariners on July 24, 2014. Prior to all of that, he played at Frank W. Cox High School and the University of Virginia.

  • June 15, 2023: Hit his 100th career home run, a grand slam off Reynaldo López of the Chicago White Sox; became the first player to hit grand slams for both his first and 100th home runs.

  • 2024 Season: Faced challenges with a batting average of .167 before being placed on the injured list due to a groin injury in late July; returned on August 22 but played only 87 games—his lowest total since joining the Dodgers in 2016—finishing with a .202 average.
